台灣所在的位置，是遷徙水鳥從東亞到澳洲的中繼站，從2013年開始，每年的12月中到隔年1月間，全台各地鳥會和鳥友們就開始大動員，一起參與「新年數鳥嘉年華」。他們除了帶著望遠鏡和相機，期待在荒野中和鳥兒們不期而遇，還有個很重要的任務，就是要調查荒野中的鳥種和數量。
下周一3/4晚間10點播出【望遠鏡裡的公民科學】，帶大家來看一群愛鳥人士，如何一邊賞鳥，一邊建構出來台遷徙水鳥的資料庫？以及台灣環境對這些遷徙水鳥們是否友善呢？
